VHB (Very High Bond) tape uses an all-acrylic foam core and forms a high-strength bond through molecular-level adhesion between the adhesive and the substrate. It is widely used to fix drone arms, housings and decorative parts.

Three points deserve special attention when selecting. First, substrate matching: carbon fiber, anodized aluminum and ABS/PC differ greatly in surface energy, and a primer may be required. Second, thickness: for curved surfaces or parts subject to thermal expansion, a thicker foam core is preferred to absorb stress. Third, load direction: let the tape carry shear force rather than peel force wherever possible.

For application, clean and fully dry the surface before bonding, apply sufficient pressure after bonding, and allow it to rest for 24 hours before the bond strength reaches a stable value. At low temperatures, extend the resting time accordingly.
